Wiltshire couple are mixed-pairs champions

Wiltshire husband and wife duo Graham and Debbie Shadwell have won the Bowls England National Mixed Pairs competition, sponsored by Blue Castle Energy.

They beat another husband and wife pairing – Catherine and Stuart Popple from Huntingdonshire – in the final held at Beach House Park, Worthing.

Results:

Semi-Finals:

Huntingdonshire (S Popple) bt Durham (A Stephenson) 17-15;

Wiltshire (G Shadwell) bt Hampshire (C Daniels) 23-10.

 

Final:

Wiltshire (G Shadwell) bt Huntingdonshire (S Popple) 21-15.

    I’d say that at you don’t really need a spare ball until you’re avginerag about 180 or so. I think you can definitely get by with one ball while you’re getting up to that level.For the ten pin, many bowlers like to move all the way to the opposite side with their feet and bowl across the lane. So if you’re right handed, line up on the far left side of the lane.
